Wednesday 27th February saw Clevedon Salerooms valuers, Director Toby Pinn MRICS and Mark Huddleston attending the new community coffee shop on Broad Street for a successful valuation afternoon raising money for the village hall. Organisers had created two ways to donate to the fund: the valuation event (with donations made to have items valued) and a gifting event, where local residents donated their items to be sold for charity, free of charge, on behalf of the village hall fund. Of course, there was the obligatory coffee and cake for sale as well…

Some of the incredibly generous donations included a 14ct gold pocket watch inset with diamonds and rubies, an Omega silver pocket watch, a George III 1/3 guinea coin, a German oak bracket clock and even two Bobby Jones golf ‘flicker books’. The wide variety of items seen ranged from pre-World War I aviation scrapbooks to a pitchfork!

Items will be auctioned across two sales at Clevedon Salerooms – the majority on 21st March 2019 and select highlights on 13th June, with all proceeds donated to the Congresbury Village Hall fund.
